How To…

How to Organize on Your Own.

Yes, I said it, on your own!

Everyone can organize. Some people can easily organize on their own while others can begin but find it challenging to finish.

Let me introduce you to a few ways you can begin organizing on your own! Just remember, you can do this!

Organizing starts with picking your first area. Pick an area that is most used or that stresses you out the most. From here, you will need to assess how much time you are willing to devote to organizing the area. You get to decide how often or how long you want to spend organizing this area. Try to stick to this area until it is done. Create a plan for discarding and how you want things to be organized.

Ready to organize?

First, wait to buy bins. It is better to organize than to plan out what kind of bins you need or want for the area. If you have bins in the house, can they be repurposed for organizing?

To start organizing, clear everything out of the area and discard anything that is no longer needed. This works best with closets, pantries, etc. Make sure to check expiration dates or items no longer worn. If you are unable to pull everything out, pull a little bit out at a time.

When you have discarded what you no longer need, this is an ideal time to put things back. Grouping like things allows a quicker way to put things back together while organizing how you would like it.
